Two Month Appointment

You had your two month doctor's appointment today too. Here are your new stats:

   Wt - 12 lbs 0oz (Wt for length - 50th percentile,
                     Wt for age - 80th percentile)

                      Ht - 23 inches (75th percentile)
                      Head - 38.5 cm (50th percentile)

And of course you had the dreaded shots. You were pretty upset when they happened but calmed down pretty fast and slept for a long time afterward. Luckily you were so strong and that made it easier on mommy.

Two Months Old

You are growing so fast! I think you get bigger everyday. You are two months old now and mommy will be going back to work soon. But this has truly been the best two months of mommy's life, getting to spend almost every minute with you.

Here's what we know:

• You still love to eat; however, now you are getting bigger so it is usually spaced out to every 3.5 to 4 hours
• You are a great sleeper. You get up during the night to eat, burp, get diaper changed and then go right back into your crib and go to sleep by yourself. Mommy is super lucky that she still gets a good amount of sleep too, especially now that you have been sleeping for a 5 to 6 hour stretch each night
• You are too big and strong to take baths in the sink anymore so we moved to the tub. You seem to really like baths, just don't like the cold part of coming out of the bath to your towel
• 5 pm to 7 pm is still your crabbiest time of day. Warning to anyone who wants to come visit at that time that they might have to endure a crying baby for a lot of it
• You still LOVE your swing! It's still your favorite even over mommy or daddy holding you
• You don't like tummy time but you love to sit up by yourself and you hold your neck up really well
• Ziggy is warming up to you a little more now. He still ignores you a lot but occasionally he will come over and give you some kisses, just to let you know he does love you
• You are smiling all the time now! Mostly in the mornings and so that is mommy's favorite time of day. Even if we are having a bad day, those smiles make everything worth it!!
• You have lots to say (or coo) and you love when someone will sit and talk to you
• You used to get hiccups after almost every feed. You still get them a lot, but no as often as you used to. You still hate them though
• You are still the loudest pooper we know
• You are still wearing 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers
• Your eyes are still bluish-grey and you haven't lost that hair yet
• You are not a very cuddly baby - You really enjoy your alone time (guess you take after daddy). When your are upset, laying you out  by yourself on your blanket will usually calm you down and make you smile again
• You had your first sleepover at the Wixo's this month

Parent's Night Out/Leah's First Sleepover

Last night my friend April had her wedding reception so Leah had her first sleepover at Auntie Nikki and Uncle Corey's house.

Paige and Parker were excited and both wanted Leah to sleep in their room. I don't think either of them won that battle but the night must have gone well for Paige because she asked if Leah could sleep over again tonight (we thought we better let Nikki have a full nights sleep again though). Plus, it was really weird for mommy to sleep in such a quiet house - no monitor, no video to watch and no crying.

My New Shoes

I love baby shoes!! I know they aren't very practical, but they are just so precious. Leah has been wearing shoes when we go into town lately (and they have even been staying on). Aren't they cute?!?

Sleeping Update

It wasn't a fluke!! Last night she slept from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. - another 6 hour stretch. I know it might not last forever, but this very well rested mommy is happy.

Wixo's Babysitting

This weekend we were lucky enough to get Leah all to ourselves for a couple hours. She was such a good little girl and pretty much slept the whole time mom and dad were gone.  But we did get a little awake time with her...

So we spent some time just looking at her and touching her while she laid on the floor...

We talked to her to calm her down....

 We all watched a little TV together....

Then we put her to sleep.....

Let her have some alone time.....

And even got a quick feed in before she went home.....

It was so fun, and made us look forward to all of the summer days that we get to spend with her while her mommy and daddy go to work :)

6 Hours!!

Leah had a major milestone last night (and a big one for mommy). She slept for 6 hours straight!! I fed her at 10 p.m., put her in her crib at 10:30 p.m. and she slept until 4:30 a.m. I couldn't believe it when I got up and looked at the clock.

Granted, she was VERY crabby the evening before this and her crying and arm/leg flailing probably exhausted her. But hey, it was 6 hours and that's the longest this mommy has slept (in a row) in 7 weeks!

Great Job Leah! Let's hope it isn't a fluke and you can sleep for that long again tonight! 

To Grandma's House We Go

Leah and I made a day road trip to visit Grandma C in Mandan yesterday. Grandpa had to work so we didn't get to see him for very long. Leah was so good in the car and slept all the way until we got to Bismarck.

We also went to visit Great Grandma Rose while she was volunteering at the hospital. Yes, she is 92 years old and still volunteers at the hospital, she is pretty amazing!

After that we went to lunch and to see Great Aunt Char and Great Uncle Eric.

It was a great day! Thanks Grandma for spending the whole day with us!

Our Day with Paige

Yesterday we got to spend the whole day with Paige because she didn't have school. We were supposed to spend today with her too but Parker was under the weather so they both had to stay home.

Thanks for a great day Paige. Leah had a blast with you and we can't wait for you to come over again soon to make up for today!
