Karlee - 15 Months Old

Our little sweetie turned 15 months. It's amazing how much you have learned in only 3 short months. You have so many more words and definitely know what you want. You are a mix between the sweetest little girl and the most stubborn little girl and it's anyone's guess from 1 minute to the next what it will be :-) You definitely have your highs and lows. You are really starting to transition from a baby to a little girl and what a joy it is to watch you.

Here are some of the joys of having a 15 month old:

• You are walking (or should I say running) all over
• You have the loudest scream I have ever heard and unfortunately you scream often... just trying to tell us what you want or when you don't get what you want.
• You love playing with necklaces - putting them on and off
• You are a good eater. You will try most everything but you already have a sweet tooth and prefer foods that aren't good for you.
• You love to walk to the pantry and get your own snacks.
• You prefer to eat with a spoon or a couple spoons and try to get the food on there and in your mouth but it's messy!
• You like to drink out of a cup other than a sippy cup. You are okay at it but by the end you usually have it spilled all over yourself.
• We put your highchair away and you sit at the table with us on your booster seat. When you are hungry you will walk over to your chair and wine for us to put you in it.
• Favorite Foods: oatmeal, goldfish, noodles, yogurt, chocolate chip muffins, fries, BANANAS, bread, fruit snacks
• You like to try to feed people or share your food.
• You will drop your sippy cup on the floor a million times a meal and say 'uh oh' until someone will pick it up
• You also love feeding Ziggy! You two are best friends right now
• You love to play on Leah's bed. You can crawl up on most things - chairs, couch
• TV doesn't really entertain you at all yet.
• You help with getting dressed by putting your foot out and arms out. You know where shoes go and hats and most all clothes.
• You like daycare - you moved to an older room and you are loving your new teachers. They are great with you! You will go to them fine in the mornings and then wave 'bye' 'bye' to them when we leave for the day.
• Like your sister, you hate the sun being in your eyes - especially in the car
• You will fling yourself back on the floor when you get mad and have a tantrum
• You are definitely testing your limits and testing your independence. You try to push your limits and hate when mom and dad tell you no.
• You talk all the time now and really try to copy what people say. New/frequent words:
• "Uh Oh"
• "Ball"
• "Hi" - will walk into the room and say 'hi' right away
• "Thanks"
• "Nigh Nigh" - usually with a wave
• "That" or "Dat" - this one we hear all the time when you point at something to tells us what you want
• "Ziggy" - anytime you see a dog
• "Bye"
• "More"
• "Leah"
• "Here"
• You are obsessed with phones - you are always stealing mom and dad's. We try to trick you with play phones - you know the difference but sometimes you will play with those too. You are usually walking around with your "phone"
• You like to hold things in your hands - but you like to have something in both hands.
• You always have to sleep with 2 blankets and you are obsessed with blankets.. whenever you see one you have to pick it up. Doesn't matter which one it is to you right now but you love them all.
• You were the best sleeper, sleeping through the night but now the last 2 weeks you have been getting up a few times during the night. You cry/scream until mom walk sin the room, then you will fall in your crib and go right back to sleep. So weird -- and annoying for mom.
• You still aren't a morning person and don't like to be rushed waking up. We are finding a routine to get you up in the morning.
• You still hate getting your diaper changed. You don't scream every time anymore - I'd say 50/50.
• Loves giving kisses - with her mouth open - so you are nervous if it is a kiss or a bite.
• Has 12 teeth - you hate us looking in your mouth. You have all your front ones (8) and the other ones are molars (4).
• You hate us trying to clean your nose.. really, really hate it but you get lots of runny noses.
• Thinks it is hilarious to run away from people - likes when we chase her
• You learned how to go down the stairs. We still get a little nervous because we have to remind you to sit but once you do, you do well going down.
• You love taking a bath and will run to the stairs when we say bath.
• You hated the lake water most of the summer but now you have come to like it and will go in - as long as we keep your shoes on.
• You LOVE dancing! You will dance anytime music comes on and it is SO cute. Mommy just loves watching you dance and you have quite the moves already!
• Bed time is rough and you hate nap time too... sometimes not so bad but most nights we are telling you to lay down about 50 times before you will fall asleep.
• You fall and hit your head a lot. I think there was a span that you had 3 different sores or black n blue marks on your head.
• Your happiest time is in the mornings.. after you have woke up you are smiley and just the happiest little girl.
• You love being outside.. especially walking around at the lake.
• You LOVE slides. Your favorite are the ones at the park but you can get up the one on the deck by yourself now and go down yourself, so you think that's pretty cool.
• Favorite toys: balls -  tech toys - phones, ipads, computers, remote controls - your red and yellow car, shoes - moving them around
• You are wearing mostly 18-24 month clothes, size 4-5 shoes and size 4 diapers
• You love your big sister and smile so much around her. It's so nice that you 2 have started to play together a little more now.
• Your favorite person is Ziggy though.. you love to be around Ziggy.
• You are the best little 15 month old ever. We love you so, so much during both your highs and your lows :-)
