8 Months Old

We just love you so much! You bring so much joy to our lives and I don't know what we would do without you.

It's been another exciting month for you. Here are the updates:

• You eat 3 meals a day most days. Usually a fruit and oatmeal in the morning and a veggie and cereal in the afternoon and either a fruit or veggie at night. You've had most of the stage 2 baby foods.
• You got over your dislike for fruits. Now you will eat just about anything.
• You tasted formula for the first time this month and you really like it. We are rotating between bottles of breastmilk or formula for the last 2 weeks.
• You love eating crackers!
• We are still working on the sippy cup. Some days you do pretty good with it. It's just hard for you to figure out to lift it up when you are sitting up.  
• You only have your 2 lower teeth.
• Your trick this month is you can wave and try to say "bye bye." You are getting pretty good at it. This week you have waved bye-bye to the other kids everyday when I picked you up from daycare.
• You started to army crawl. You can get up to a regular crawl and hold yourself there but then you just flop back on your belly again. You get almost anywhere you want by rolling, army crawling and stretching.
• You can get from lying on your back to sitting all by yourself.
• You still love to stand.
• You are funny when you sleep - you lay on your side with your feet up against the side of the crib.
• But, you still don't sleep through the night :-(
• Your favorite things to play with are markers (to chew on) and balls.
• It's sad that it is getting colder now. We are really going to miss going outside. At least we still have bath time which you love. 
• You are wearing 6-9 and some 9-12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
• You still talk up a storm. You love to say da da.
• You have been sick a bit this month. Nothing bad, no fevers. But you've had a cough and runny nose.
• You have the most beautiful smile.

Turning 30

I've heard from some that turning 30 is tough; but I decided that I should turn 30 every year because I have been overly spoiled by everyone! My birthday celebrations have been spread out over a couple of weeks now with a bunch of special events.

First, the Cermak family spent the weekend in Alexandria at the Carlos Creek winery at a Grape Stomp. It was a fun weekend and you can never go wrong with family, wine, junk food and an event with a bunch of drunk people :-)

 

 

The day before my birthday I had a fondue party at my house with some of my old co-workers. I didn't get any pictures of the party but we had a blast and the food was super yummy.


On my actual birthday we went bowling and to Cherry Berry with Paige and Parker. Everyone had a blast bowling (even Leah). And who doesn't love Cherry Berry!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then on Saturday, I had another night out with some co-workers. Drinks, laughter and fun times all around!

And I still have one more birthday gift to come with a day of massages with Chas and Nikki - which I am SO excited for!!

See... I wasn't kidding about getting completely spoiled! What a wonderful birthday. Thank you to everyone who made my turning 30 so great!

On The Move

Leah is officially on the move. She hasn't had much interest in crawling but she does have a desire to get what she wants... thus the army crawl and long reach. We are in no hurry for full fledged crawling as we haven't even bought a gate yet. But we are super proud of her for her army crawl.

Wedding Dance

Our family had a great day celebrating Brett and Brie's wedding a few weekends ago. This was Leah's first wedding ever. It was a beautiful day, everything at the wedding (including the bride) was gorgeous and it was  a fun time with family.

Kayla & Eric were nice enough to let us stay at their house and it worked out perfectly. Leah loved playing with all of Ellery's toys...

Then it was time to dance. I wish I would have got some more pics or a video of Parker's sweet dance moves. It's not every day that you see a 3 year old trying to spin himself on the floor. He was such a little stud! Both him and Paige were having a great time at the dance and it was so much fun to watch them.

 

 

 

 



Happy B-day Grandpa D!

Grandpa D, I hope that you have a wonderful birthday. I'm so lucky to have you as such an involved Grandpa that watches me all the time and is so much fun to be around. You can always make me smile and give me lots of attention. You never let me sit on the floor and scream like my parents do.

And Ziggy LOVES you too. You and Grandma spoil us both rotten. We hope you have a wonderful day doing something relaxing and fun.

Happy Birthday Aunt Nikki!

Happy Birthday to a WONDERFUL aunt. There are not many aunts that would sacrifice their entire summer break by taking a fussy/needy baby every day! There will never be words for how appreciative mom and dad are that you did that.

I am so happy to have your creative abilities in my life. You are the best decorator, party planner and crafty person we know and we are lucky that you share your talents with us. I still have the best room in whole house and it's strictly because of you.

I am extremely lucky to have such a loving, amazing aunt. I hope you have the best day today because you totally deserve it!
