4th of July Fun

We had a great 4th of July for Karlee's first one; however, the weather didn't really want to cooperate with us. We decided to head to Detroit Lakes to spend the day at the public beach. You can see from Karlee's face in the swimsuit picture -- she was thinking this wasn't a very smart idea. It started out okay but it got windy, really windy. So we packed up and headed to the park to play. We played at the park, met Chas for a bit before heading back home. We hung out around the house and then did our very limited fireworks - snakes, snaps and poppers. Leah wasn't so sure about those snakes come from nothing, so she kept running away from them. That night, we had a great fireworks show that we were able to watch from the window. Lots around us and it was lucky we could watch from our window because then it started raining. Daddy and Leah braved the rain outside for a bit but after a while it was time for bed for all. A great family day and 1st 4th for Karlee!

So Sweet

Karlee's 2 Week Check-Up

Karlee had a great 2-week check-up and is growing like a weed. She's definitely loving to eat and gained a good amount of weight. Most importantly - she's healthy and happy (so far).

Birth Stats:

Wt - 8 lbs 2 oz

Ht - 21 inches

Head - 13.8 in

2 Week Check-Up:

Wt - 9 lbs 9oz (Wt for length - 79th percentile,

Wt for age - 89th percentile)

Ht - 20.9 inches (84th percentile)

Head - 14.5 in (93rd percentile)

It's kind of funny that 9 lbs 9 oz was the exact weight of Leah at her 2 week check-up. :-) Honestly their stats are very similar so far.

So blessed to have a healthy little girl!

Park Trip

Giving the carrier a try for a trip to the park. Leah hated this thing and it seems like Karlee isn't going to love it either. But we had a fun walk (even though I had to take her out of the carrier). And found a birds next with some babies in it that Leah was pretty excited about.

Dschaak Kids - 4th of July

Every year, Aunt Chas buys the kids 4th of the July outfits and we make sure to get a group shot of them. This year was great because Nikki and Corey are living out on the farm. So many cool places to take pictures. I LOVE how they turned out! The only issue were a few bugs that they weren't too happy with but overall, they did great.
